MMI: Breaking Dawn Part 2
People think marriage is a serious thing. Imagine agreeing to have someone turn you into an immortal vampire. Now THAT’S commitment.
Cinema Beans: The Color Wheel
There seems to be an iniquitously divine presence surrounding JR and Colin—brother and sister perfect for one another. As cinematographer Sean Price Williams said, “There is something perfect here. It must be a formula studied from horror films. These two lovers are not of this world. Destined only for each other. Is it a romance?”
I don’t know if its romance, but upon witnessing these two aimless young souls drifting between sexual partners, romantic failings, and the unthinkable weight society places on finding one’s professional path, there really is just “something perfect” when they finally kiss. Maybe I need to see a psychiatrist, but for me it’s liberating to witness two individuals acting upon their innermost desires no matter how despised it may be by society. And in some sick universe created in the back of my head, I can see these two actually making it together. Maybe not as a “couple” per se, but as a duo that’s destined for each other in a world that simply will not allow it.
